Recognized first and foremost as the home of the Denver Broncos Football Club, Sports Authority Field at Mile High is also home to hundreds of other events annually of all types and sizes.  

Since the stadium's grand opening in 2001, more than 12 million fans have enjoyed a wide array of world-class sports and entertainment at Sports Authority Field including major concerts, festivals, historic political conventions and international sports competitions.

While easily accomodating the big boys, Sports Authority Field at Mile High also welcomes a wide-range of smaller events and activities from corporate gatherings and meetings, asociation conventions, as well as private get togethers and family celebrations including weddings, birthday parties and bar mitzvahs.  

Below are a  few of the event highlights that have taken place at the stadium since 2001.

2001 Grand Opening Event

INVESCO Field at Mile High officially opened its doors to the public on August 11, 2011 with a sold-out concert by the Eagles followed by one of the largest fireworks displays to ever take place in Colorado.  Over 55,000 fans were in attendance.

2002 International Soccer - United States vs Mexico

The United States Men's National Team took on Mexico before over 48,000 fans with the United States coming out on top 1-0, with the winning goal by Clint Mathis who scored into an open net from three yards out following a collision between Mexican defender Manuel Vidrio and goalkeeper Oscar Perez.

2003 Metallica Summer Sanitarium Tour

Over 50,000 fans rocked to the sounds of Metallica, Limp Bizkit and Lincoln Park on August 1, 2003 when the Summer Sanitarium Tour stopped at INVESCO field at Mile High.

2003 Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band

September 25, 2003:  On a beautiful, 75-degree September day, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band brought their world tour to INVESCO Field at Mile High with an energy packed performance of over 3 hours that included all of their hits.

2008 Democratic National Convention

On August 28, 2008, over 84,000 people inside the stadium and more than 38 million worldwide watched the historic final night of the 2008 Democratic National Convention from INVESCO Field at Mile High and the acceptance speech of Senator Barack Obama, the first African-American Presidential Nominee of a major political party in United States history.

2011 U2 360 North American Tour Opening Night

The North American opening night of the U2 360 tour took place on May 11, 2011 at INVESCO Field at Mile High before over 80,000 fans. The highest grossing tour in concert history, the 360 tour was also the most massive production ever. Requiring over 75 tractor-trailers to transport from city to city, the production included a stage that was over 150’ tall (as tall as the stadium), nicknamed "The Claw."

2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Football Association (CONCACAF) selected Sports Authority Field at Mile High from more than 50 other US stadiums as one of 13 to host the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Taking place every two years, the Gold Cup is North America's most popular national-team tournament, drawing capacity crowds and millions of international television viewers. As part of a group stage double-header, on July 14, 2013, fans at Sports Authority Field at Mile High witnessed Mexico take on Martinique and Panama vs Canada.

2012 & 2013 Kenny Chesney

July 21, 2012:
Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw headlined the Brothers of the Sun Tour which took place before a sold out audience of over 50,000 fans.

JULY 20, 2013:
Kenny Chesney returned with the No Shoes Nation Tour with special guest Eric Church.
